This is the section where I am supposed to explain what this whole website is about. I am life long New Yorker* who has wanted to leave the northeast for a while. In June of 2009 I abruptly decided to move to Denver, Colorado. I quit my relatively well paying, stable job in corporate finance. I shipped some stuff west, left some stuff behind (I have to figure out how to get it later) and packed the rest of my life into my car.
This site is going highlight my attempts to navigate the Denver area. I’m looking to make friends, have fun, all while trying to find a job, love and a decent meal.
I’ve always had a creative side that I was never able to use in my regular job. Creativity plus finance leads to lengthy prison terms. I like to write. I really like to take pictures. I like to pretend my friends are curious enough about my life to want to read my postings.
The site is divided into sections: food & drink, dating, differences between NY & Colorado. Parts of the site will detail local places and culture, which will be interesting for those living locally, or those considering moving to Colorado. Other aspects will focus on broader topics with more universal appeal, such as dating, cooking, job hunting. There will also be a little section where I post information about my various exploits.

* Disclaimer: Maybe not lifelong because I spent the last few years in NJ. But who wants to read about the adventures of a New Jerseyian. All stories are true, (unless the statue of limitations hasn’t passed) but similar to the Patriot Act, some liberties might be taken from time to time.
And as a note to Michelle – As much as it sounded like a good idea at the time to call the site “Lucy is C word” I opted against it. I figure the Charles Schultz estate wouldn’t be too happy. But thanks for the idea, and it was cool meeting you.
